Component Societies Directory

The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and its Component Societies have grown and developed greatly since the beginning of the Society in 1957. There are now more than 25 separate Component Societies formally recognized by ASCH. These Societies are spread across the U.S. and Canada and are an integral part of the success of ongoing activities within ASCH.

ASCH has put together a Resource Manual to help preserve that history and tradition of ASCH with its Component Sections. It is also intended to serve as a tool Component Sections can utilize to learn about the opportunities, rights, and responsibilities of Component Sections within ASCH. It will also serve as a useful function for groups wishing to consider applying for component status in ASCH.

The Resource Manual is organized into several sections. The first contains a list of ASCH “People Resources” available to Component Sections. This list includes contact information for elected officers, appointed committee chairs, Journal Editor, Newsletter Editor, and ASCH Central staff. Any of these individuals may be contacted directly by Component Societies to discuss issues, ideas, concerns, and recommendations regarding ASCH and/or its components. A revision of this list, reflecting changes in positions, will be available to you each year.

A Component Section is a local, state/provincial, or regional society of clinical hypnosis that has at least 8 ASCH members. Some components are small study groups, others are large organizations with hundreds of people. There are 18 current Component Sections, all of which hold meetings and host programs.

ASCH is very pleased to work with Debbie Bensching as the chair of the Components Division of ASCH. If you have any questions regarding collaboration opportunities or other overall initiatives between the individual component societies and ASCH, please email Debbie at debbensching@comcast.net.
