Description: Each of us carries millions of cells within us, tirelessly working to keep our bodies healthy and functioning — without us needing to understand exactly how they do it. These cells are not only responsible for our physical health but can also inspire us as metaphors and serve as models for our inner strength. Through inner images and metaphors, trance enables experiences that can lead to lasting change. Personal resources can be discovered, resilience strengthened, self-efficacy experienced, and healthy boundaries consciously perceived. Case examples illustrate how easily and effectively these abilities can be activated through trance.
This lecture offers a practical demonstration, using real cases, of how hypnotherapy can help strengthen self-efficacy and enable individuals to move safely and confidently through a complex world.
Participants will be able to:
- Describe how to elicit at least two client resources and identify one problem-maintaining pattern using a cell-based metaphor
- Name and describe at least two techniques to facilitate client experiences of self-efficacy, resilience, or boundary awareness in clinical and high-performance contexts
- Explain at least two approaches for facilitating transitions from a problem-maintaining state to an adaptive resource states
