Abstract: This workshop will focus on advanced practice and skill building in the strategic application of hypnotic techniques to a wide range of clinical issues, including using hypnosis to improve emotional intelligence, hypnotic interventions for pain management, and hypnotic techniques for weight loss and habit disorders. This workshop is designed to equip you with the practical skills necessary to incorporate hypnosis into your unique style of clinical practice successfully. Training will include component skills of utilization, ideomotor/sensory signaling, memory retrieval for ego-strengthening, along with Dr. Barr’s REBIRTHSU Model for comprehensive assessment and hypnotic treatment. The workshop will include didactic instruction and multiple short practice sessions.
Learning Objectives: Participants attending this workshop will be able to:
- Describe how to test for hypnotic talents.
- Demonstrate ideomotor exploration of seven possible levels of etiology for clinical problems.
- Describe how hypnosis can be used to identify past resources and bring them into present situations using hypnosis.
- Describe how to use state-dependent memory to identify and reframe original imprints of emotional dysregulation.
- Describe how to use REBIRTHSU to create a multilevel assessment and treatment model to integrate hypnosis into clinical practice.
- Describe the four areas of personal & social competencies that make up emotional intelligence.
