Abstract:

Enhance your clinical hypnosis skills with Mindful Hypnosis, an evidence-based approach that combines the benefits of mindfulness and hypnosis to rapidly reduce stress and enhance mindful resilience. Whether you are naive to mindfulness or an experienced meditator, this training offers practical tools to elevate and refine your therapeutic skills.This in-person, immersive training offers a retreat-like experience where attendees engage in guided meditation, experiential practice, and dyadic learning. Going beyond theory and research, this workshop provides practical protocols, hands-on learning, and experiential exercises to help you easily integrate Mindful Hypnosis into both your professional and personal practice.

Learning Objectives:

After completing this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Define two of the core principles of Mindful Hypnosis.
  2. Identify three similarities between mindfulness and hypnosis.
  3. Evaluate the clinical implications of two aspects of research on the effects of Mindful Hypnosis practices for stress reduction.
  4. Define the three-session and eight-session Mindful Hypnosis protocols.
  5. List the underlying principles of Mindful Hypnosis that support adaptation for clinical populations including ADHD, chronic pain, and PTSD.
  6. Utilize three Mindful Hypnosis inductions to invoke a mindful trance.
  7. Identify three techniques, including mindful suggestions, deepeners, post-hypnotic suggestions, and mindful inquiry, to guide a Mindful Hypnosis experience.
  8. Define how three hypnotic phenomena – quiet ego strengthening, age regression, and future projection – can be used to address clinical symptoms.
  9. Identify two clinical presentations where use of Mindful Hypnosis may be useful or contraindicated.
  10. Describe two informal mindfulness techniques to overcome barriers to practicing meditation.
  11. Utilize “The Light Within” induction for Mindful Self Hypnosis to mitigate compassion fatigue.
  12. Determine how Mindful Hypnosis can enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
