2026 ASCH Scientific Meeting and Workshops (ASMW) in Review

April 27, 2026
Conference

With 35 total sessions, 38 unique speakers, and 132 attendees, this year’s virtual Annual Scientific Meeting and Workshops (ASMW) held March 19-22, 2026, was one to remember! This year’s attendees represented many different professions, including psychologists and clinical psychologists, physicians, psychotherapists and counselors, nurse practitioners, educators, supervisors, and program leaders, and allied health professionals. We also saw a variety of participants across clinical specialties, including:

  • Trauma, PTSD, and complex dissociation
  • Anxiety, mood disorders, and attachment work
  • Pain management and health psychology
  • Medical and integrative care
  • Pediatric and family mental health
  • Spiritual, transpersonal, and consciousness‑based approaches

Thank you to all those who took the time and effort to present at this year’s ASMW. As the theme of this year’s event centered around artificial intelligence, ASMW 2026 featured extensive programming on AI, addressing clinical applications, training and consultation, publishing ethics, and the impact of AI on therapeutic presence, including a plenary, panel discussion, and special interest breakout. Core hypnotic skills and techniques formed the backbone of the conference, including Ericksonian approaches, hypnotic communication, attachment repair, trance phenomena, and hypnoanesthesia.

A number of sessions explored trauma‑informed hypnosis, PTSD treatment, organized abuse, dissociation, and somatic and experiential approaches, emphasizing safety, pacing, and ethical care. Clinical hypnosis in healthcare settings was also highlighted through work on pain management, medical procedures, pediatrics, and integrative medical care. Programming addressed mindful hypnotherapy, grief and end‑of‑life work, imagination and consciousness, and spiritual dimensions of healing. And finally, many sessions supported faculty development, education pathways, leadership transition, and member engagement through ASCH‑focused programming and events.

If you didn’t make it to the 2026 ASMW this past March, the recorded presentations will be available for purchase soon! Please note that if you were able to attend, you will automatically receive the recordings as part of your registration fee.
