Description: What if meaningful therapeutic change could begin in a single session?
In this highly experiential workshop, participants will engage in three distinct approaches to single-session therapy utilizing hypnosis. Through a series of group inductions, attendees will experience these methods firsthand and explore how they can help clients access their own resources, discover new perspectives, and generate solutions to longstanding difficulties.
Each experiential exercise will be followed by a discussion of the underlying principles, structure, and clinical applications of the approach. Participants will explore:
- Guided imagery techniques for eliciting change and insight
- Variations of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Fast Allergy Cure as a model for rapid therapeutic intervention
- The therapeutic use of exorcism metaphors and rituals
Drawing on decades of clinical experience, Rubin Battino presents practical, creative, and often unexpected ways of facilitating change. Attendees will leave with new ideas, concrete techniques, and a deeper appreciation for the possibilities of single-session work.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe and/or demonstrate at least three of the following techniques: relaxation through attention to breathing, end-of-session time-outs, and conversational openings of a session.
- List or Demonstrate at least three of the following clinical skills: establishing a therapeutic alliance, using pauses during hypnosis, and introducing a novel therapeutic intervention.
- Formulate and/or role-play at least two of the following interventions: facilitating relaxation, using the word “somehow” therapeutically during hypnosis, and offering a small smooth stone as a therapeutic anchor at the end of a session.
- Identify and describe at least three of the following concepts: exorcisms, safe havens, healing power, evil or controlling spirits, and end-of-session time-outs.
