At the conclusion of this workshop\, participants will be better able to assess attachment and complex trauma; apply techniques for working more effectively with various attachment styles; manage dissociation and abreaction during hypnosis; utilize ideomotor signals for helping clients work through inner conflicts blocking change; apply techniques for trauma-related anxiety & pain; and utilize techniques for breaking maladaptive habits. Limitations\, contraindications\, and ethical use of clinical hypnosis will also be addressed. Prerequisite: ASCH Level 1 Course or equivalent  \nLearning Objectives: At the conclusion of this program\, participants will be better able to:  \n\nDescribe how complex trauma can impact brain development and attachment behavior. \nCompare four attachment styles and identify techniques to build rapport with each style. \nApply three strategies to help clients with anxious attachment style develop skills to set boundaries\, improve self-worth and reduce fears of abandonment. \nDemonstrate three strategies to help clients with avoidant-dismissive attachment style develop skills for improved emotional expression\, self-compassion\, and balance the need for control in relationships. \nDemonstrate three strategies to help clients with disorganized attachment manage social anxiety\, dissociative episodes\, and feelings of mistrust. \nIdentify two or more strategies for managing dissociation and containing negative abreactions while reviewing traumatic memories. \nDemonstrate how to use ideomotor signals to identify and explore subconscious conflicts blocking change. \nDemonstrate one or more strategies for working with trauma-related amnesia and fragmented memories. \nDemonstrate how to integrate hypnosis with imaginal exposure and imagery rehearsal to reduce anxiety and phobias.

SUMMARY:Hypnosis for Trauma I: Comprehensive Stabilization (Integrative Health Psycology\, PA)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Integrative Health Psychology\, PA  \nWebsite: www.LouisDamisPhD.com  \nEvent Title: Hypnosis for Trauma I: Comprehensive Stabilization\, Advanced Workshop  \nAgenda:  Agenda_Hypnosis_for_Trauma_I_Damis \nDates: 08/31/2025  \nLocation: Virtual  \nCE: 5  \nContact: Louis Damis\, Ph.D DrDamis@LouisDamisPhD.com  \nAbstract: \nThis workshop focuses on the use of stabilization\, the initial phase of the Phase-Oriented Treatment of Trauma (Brown & Fromm\, 1986). This phase of treatment is often quite complex\, including the development of arousal reduction and anxiety management skills\, internalization of an implicit sense of safety and security\, self-soothing\, control of dissociation\, readiness for assertiveness skills\, improvement in self-regard/esteem\, cognitive modification\, sleep promotion/reduction in nightmares\, and prerequisite skills for trauma processing. The majority of the session will be dedicated to training techniques\, with an emphasis on demonstrations that will be recorded for distribution to participants. The Normative Implicit Clinical Hypnosis approach taught facilitates modification of implicit memory and Internal Working Models that underlie Complex PTSD. This workshop is a prerequisite for the Trauma II (Attachment Repair) and Trauma III (Integration and Self-Development) workshops.  \nLearning Objectives:   \nEducational Objectives:  \n\nParticipants will be able to describe the three components of the phase-oriented trauma treatment. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to outline and apply two strategies for establishing a neuroception of safety. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to delineate three criteria for adequate acquisition of an internalized sense of safety and security. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to describe and train self-soothing and two dissociation control techniques. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to describe and apply one or more strategies for ego-strengthening\, sleep promotion\, nightmare resolution\, and cognitive modification.
