In this workshop\, we address two key clinical areas – pain and trauma – and discuss how relational and experiential facets of treatment can be incorporated with sophistication. The workshop leader will teach an attachment-focused relational method and help participants learn how they can evoke hypnosis as part of this approach. In addition to becoming more grounded in the principles of such an approach\, participants will learn specific skills of how to utilize relational hypnosis in the treatment of attachment trauma\, chronic pain\, and functional disorders. Although this is an advanced workshop\, participants of all experience levels are welcome. For example\, you might be experienced with hypnosis but want to learn more about working with pain & trauma. Alternatively\, you might be a skilled practitioner in one or both of those treatment areas\, but want to learn more about hypnosis and how it could be integrated into the treatment you provide.  \nLearning Objectives: Day One: Attachment-Focused Hypnosis & Developmental Repair of Trauma \nUpon completion of this session\, participants will be able to…  \n\nDefine mentalization and explain how it develops during a healthy attachment process. \n\n\nDifferentiate between contingent and marked mirroring \n\n\nIntegrate polyvagal and neurological phenomena into a conceptual framework for how trauma disrupts development. \n\n\nConceptualize the use of hypnosis to treat trauma from a relational model \n\n\nSummarize how hypnosis can be incorporated into trauma treatment by theoretical orientation & by phase of treatment \n\n\nFormulate and deliver 2 hypnotic suggestions for enhancing attunement in the hypnotherapeutic relationship \n\n\nFormulate and deliver 2 hypnotic suggestions for developing mental representation of a secure attachment figure or ego state \n\n\nFormulate and deliver 2 hypnotic suggetions for increasing self & object constancy across divergent experiential\, mental\, and ego states \n\n\nOffer an indirect and direct hypnotic suggestion for the purpose of developing mentalization. \n\n\nFormulate and deliver 2 hypnotic suggestions for increasing the capacity for reflective awareness about mental states in developmentally arrested patients \n\n  \nDay Two: Relational Hypnosis for Chronic Pain and Functional Disorders \nUpon completion of this session\, participants will be able to…  \n\nUtilize principles of attachment & relationship to create a hypnotic scene for the purpose of modulating pain \n\n\nList 5 questions from a relational assessment of chronic pain Explain how to integrate principles of relational alliance-building & active-alert hypnosis in the treatment of chronic pain. \n\n\nExplain how to directly or indirectly utilize the therapeutic alliance in creating a hypnotic suggestion of safety in the treatment of a functional disorder. \n\n\nDifferentiate hypnotic treatment of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) from traditional chronic pain. \n\n\nList one relational hypnotic suggestion each in the treatment of a functional gastrointestinal disorder (FGID) & functional neurological disorder (FND) (respectively). \n\n

SUMMARY:Hypnosis for Trauma III: Integration and Self-Development (Integrative Health Psychology\, PA)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Integrative Health Psychology\, PA \nWebsite: www.LouisDamisPhD.com  \nEvent Title: Hypnosis for Trauma III: Integration and Self-Development  \nAgenda:  Agenda_Hypnosis_for_Trauma_III_Damis \nDates: 09/28/2025 \nLocation: Virtual \nCE: 5 \nSpeaker & Contact: Louis Damis\, Ph.D. DrDamis@LouisDamisPhD.com  \nAbstract: This workshop focuses on the application of clinical hypnosis in the Integration and Self-Development phases of trauma recovery. Once adequate stabilization has been attained\, the client is now equipped with the tools and sense of empowerment needed to process\, master\, and integrate traumatic memories effectively. This workshop will address the use of clinical hypnosis for controlled uncovering as required and transformation of traumatic memories. Use of memory reconsolidation update techniques will also be taught. This may also include aspects of ego-state therapy and integration of introjects. As trauma and neglect disrupt one’s identity and sense of self\, therapy now needs to facilitate and guide the self-development that neglect prevented. This is also a period of meaning-making and relational development that can be facilitated with clinical hypnosis.  Much of this session will be dedicated to training techniques\, with an emphasis on demonstrations that will be recorded for distribution to participants. It is recommended that participants complete the Trauma I (Stabilization) and Trauma II (Attachment Repair) workshops before attending this workshop.  \nLearning Objectives:   \n\nParticipants will be able to describe the three components of the trauma treatment integration phase. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to describe and apply two strategies for processing and modifying traumatic memories. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to explain the importance of the self-development phase of trauma treatment. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to describe and apply attachment repair strategies for fostering constructive interpersonal relationships.

This phase of treatment is often quite complex\, including the development of arousal reduction and anxiety management skills\, internalization of an implicit sense of safety and security\, self-soothing\, control of dissociation\, readiness for assertiveness skills\, improvement in self-regard/esteem\, cognitive modification\, sleep promotion/reduction in nightmares\, and prerequisite skills for trauma processing. The majority of the session will be dedicated to training techniques\, with an emphasis on demonstrations that will be recorded for distribution to participants. The Normative Implicit Clinical Hypnosis approach taught facilitates modification of implicit memory and Internal Working Models that underlie Complex PTSD. This workshop is a prerequisite for the Trauma II (Attachment Repair) and Trauma III (Integration and Self-Development) workshops.  \nLearning Objectives:   \nEducational Objectives:  \n\nParticipants will be able to describe the three components of the phase-oriented trauma treatment. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to outline and apply two strategies for establishing a neuroception of safety. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to delineate three criteria for adequate acquisition of an internalized sense of safety and security. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to describe and train self-soothing and two dissociation control techniques. \n\n\nParticipants will be able to describe and apply one or more strategies for ego-strengthening\, sleep promotion\, nightmare resolution\, and cognitive modification.

SUMMARY:2025 Comprehensive Clinical Hypnosis and Strategic Psychotherapy Training (Dr. Yapko & Associates)
DESCRIPTION:Organization:  Dr. Yapko & Associates \nWebsite: https://yapko.com/hypnosis-training/ \nEvent Title: 2025 Comprehensive Clinical Hypnosis and Strategic Psychotherapy Training \nDates: 04/02/2025-04/06/2025\, 4/28/25-5/4/2025\, 6/4/2025-6/8/2025 \nLocation: Virtual \nCE: 60 \nContact: Michael Yapko\, michael@yapko.com \nAbstract:\nThis comprehensive training program is divided into three phases\, each progressively building in intensity and complexity as we go along. Michael’s teaching is highly structured and organized. The course is entirely virtual (online) and takes place over time to allow the natural process of learning to occur with experiential learning in between phases. There is no substitute for the opportunity to take the skills back to your practice and have your own personal experience with your clients as you begin to integrate the newly learned skills. Then\, you can come back to the next phase of the training with relevant questions and experiences. In every phase\, the emphasis is on practicality: What are the practical implications of concepts being taught\, and what are the techniques derived from these insights? How can they be incorporated into your sessions? There will be structured practice sessions in every phase; after all\, the primary goal of the entire training is to give you the tools needed to integrate hypnosis skillfully into your clinical practice. There will be didactic presentations on key topics\, video demonstrations\, and ample opportunity for addressing questions and discussing the finer points of presented material. \nCourse Brochure: 60-Hr_Comprehensive_Hypnosis_Training_Brochure
