SUMMARY:When the Body Speaks: Ego State Therapy & Hypnotic Applications for Somatic Symptoms Including FND\, Chronic Pain & Sleep Concerns (CFCH)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis  \nWebsite: https://clinicalhypnosis.ca/event-6528746  \nEvent Title: When the Body Speaks: Ego State Therapy & Hypnotic Applications for Somatic Symptoms Including FND\, Chronic Pain & Sleep Concerns  \nAgenda:  Agenda \nDates: May 1-2\, 2026  \nLocation: In-Person and Virtually  \nCE: 14  \nContact : Wendy Willberg-Lemke\, wendylemkelp@gmail.com  \nDescription: This 2-day training is designed for clinicians with prior training in hypnosis who wish to deepen their clinical skills when working with somatic symptoms such as functional neurological disorder (FND)\, chronic pain\, and sleep disturbances. This course\, grounded in Ego State Therapy conceptualizes somatic symptoms as meaningful messages from the body and the system of self. These symptoms may reflect internal conflicts\, adaptive reasoning\, or survival strategies. Ego State Therapy provides several ways to communicate with the body and/or ego states to explore unconscious causes\, contributing factors as well as potential solutions for somatic symptoms. Utilizing ideomotor signaling and other unconscious ways of exploring\, participants will learn how to access and communicate with states to elicit information about safety\, function\, contributing factors\, and potential pathways for resolution of somatic symptoms. Emphasis is placed on therapeutic intention\, hypnotic suggestions\, and internal negotiations that are respectful of the whole self within a trauma-informed\, phase-oriented framework. The training will review and apply core Ego State Therapy (EST) principles\, including Lemke’s adapted P-Principles\, which serve as a template for holding the multiplicity of self in mind when formulating hypnotic suggestions and strategies. EST treatment strategies based on these principles will be presented\, such as accessing internal resources and Lemke’s Playing with the Space. Demonstrations\, case examples\, and experiential exercises will be incorporated to enhance participants’ learning.  \nLearning Objectives: By the conclusion of this two-day training\, participants will be able to:  \n   \n\n Summarize research that demonstrates the effectiveness of clinical hypnosis in treating somatic issues such as FND and Chronic Pain. \n\n   \n\n Apply Ego State Therapy concepts including Lemke’s adapted P-Principles\, to clinically conceptualize and work with the voices of the body by recognizing the multiplicity of self.\n\n   \n\nIdentify three different ways to access ego states for gathering useful unconscious information about the body to assist in the treatment of somatic symptoms. \n\n   \n\n Develop an ego state trauma informed hypnotic approach for a somatic symptom presentation that integrates therapeutic intention and incorporates EST strategies such as Lemke’s ‘Playing with the Space’ strategy.\n\n   \n\nDemonstrate the use of ideomotor signaling as a tool to work with the system of self to identify purpose/function\, and/or other contributing factors to somatic symptoms. \n\nSpeaker info: Wendy Willberg-Lemke Bio

SUMMARY:Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Hypnosis for the Seriously Curious (FSCH)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Florida Society of Clinical Hypnosis  \nWebsite: https://www.fsch.org/workshops  \nEvent Title: Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Hypnosis for the Seriously Curious  \nAgenda:  FSCH_Agenda_May_2026 \nDates: 05/2/2026 –  5/3/2026  \nLocation: In-person  \nCE: 12  \nContact : Marie Wilson mariefsch@aol.com   \nDescription: This 12-hour workshop is designed for health professionals who want to learn more about psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAP) for their patients and possibly for themselves. This workshop is not intended to train practitioners to use PAP with clients. However\, attendees will learn about the basic science of the agents most commonly used in PAP\, indications for various medications for psychological challenges\, the structure of typical sessions\, and ethical issues such as legality\, availability\, and the significant potential for harm associated with this form of therapy. The workshop will address how psychotherapy approaches\, including hypnosis\, can facilitate the preparation and integration phases of a PAP experience. We will discuss how this type of facilitation can be done by a therapist who is independent of the actual PAP treatment. We will also provide experiential exercises to 1) create mystical experiences with hypnosis and 2) use the science of the unconscious to create significant emotional and behavioral shifts. The instructors pride themselves on using state-of-the-art research in neurophysiology and outcome research throughout the workshop.  \nLearning Objectives:  \n\n Describe the empirical evidence for the neurophysiological effects of psychedelic-assisted therapies (PAP) on brain function and psychiatric outcome. \n\n\nDescribe the steps of PAP interventions based on the target issue and the medicine being used. \n\n\nArticulate how psychotherapy and hypnosis can facilitate the preparatory and integration phases of PAP. \n\n\nExperience and be able to describe a hypnotically induced mystical experience. \n\n\nExperience and describe the use of the unconscious to create emotional and behavioral changes through hypnosis. \n\nSpeaker info: Ciara Christensen\, PhD Ciara_Christensen_bio \n

SUMMARY:Integrating Hypnotherapy and Brainspotting (NTSCH)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: North Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis  \nWebsite: www.northtexashypnosis.org   \nEvent Title: Integrating Hypnotherapy and Brainspotting  \nAgenda:  Agenda \nDates: 05/27/2026  \nLocation: Virtual  \nCE: 1.5  \nContact : Tracy Watson\, tracypaytonwatson@gmail.com  \nDescription: This training introduces clinicians to the integration of hypnotherapy and Brainspotting as complementary\, neurobiologically informed approaches for addressing trauma\, emotional dysregulation\, and entrenched behavioral patterns. Participants will receive a brief review of Brainspotting\, including its theoretical foundations\, the use of eye position to access subcortical processing\, and the role of relational and dual attunement in facilitating regulation and resolution. The workshop explores how hypnotic induction\, focused attention\, ego-strengthening interventions\, and therapeutic suggestion can enhance stabilization\, deepen processing\, and support integration within a Brainspotting framework. Through a structured case study\, participants examine clinical sequencing\, pacing\, contraindications\, ethical considerations\, and scope-of-practice issues relevant to interdisciplinary practice. Designed for clinicians seeking to expand trauma-informed competencies\, this training emphasizes client safety\, autonomy\, and responsible integration of brain-based and experiential methods.  \nLearning Objectives: At the conclusion of the training each participant will be able to:   \n\nSummarize the core principles and neurobiological foundations of Brainspotting. \n\n\nDescribe at least three clinical applications of hypnotherapy that complement Brainspotting. \n\n\nIdentify at least three appropriate stabilization and pacing strategies when integrating both modalities. \n\n\nRecognize contraindications\, ethical considerations\, and scope-of-practice factors relevant to interdisciplinary practice. \n\n\nApply integration concepts to a case example to support trauma-informed clinical decision-making. \n\nSpeaker info: Teresa Jackson\, PhD  Resume-02-2026-Jackson-T
