We will explore the historical use of psychedelics alongside the growing interest in their modern clinical applications. Drawing on both personal and professional experiences\, I will demonstrate how hypnosis can foster openness and readiness for psychedelic experiences and how it can aid in integrating insights post-journey to support lasting personal growth.Through engaging discussions and demonstrations\, participants will gain practical techniques and new perspectives to deepen their understanding of hypnosis and its role in enhancing psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP).  \nLearning Objectives:  \n1) State two shared features of hypnosis and ketamine/psilocybin\n2) State one difference between a ‘psycholytic dose’ vs a ‘heroic or psychedelic’ dose\n3) State one hypnosis technique they can utilize during the preparation phase of PAP to\nenhance openness and readiness\n4) State one hypnosis technique they can utilize for the integration/post-journey phase to help\nclients process insights and solidify personal growth \nSpeaker Information: \nCiara Christensen\, PhD\, earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Washington State University in 2012. She is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Idaho\, Colorado\, and Wisconsin\, and has extensive experience in both hospital and private practice settings. Dr. Christensen is the former President of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) and past President of the American Psychological Association’s Division 30\, Society of Psychological Hypnosis. She also served as Editor for FOCUS\, the publication of SCEH. Before completing her PhD\, she was Managing Editor of the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. Dr. Christensen is widely recognized for her contributions to hypnosis research and practice\, having published in peer-reviewed journals and conducted workshops internationally. Her work reflects her commitment to advancing the scientific and clinical applications of hypnosis. \nCiara Christensen has no financial relationships to report within the past 24 months
