SUMMARY:Relational Hypnotic Strategies for Anxiety Disorders (Attune Therapy Group PC)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Attune Therapy Group PC \nWebsite: https://www.ericspiegelphd.com/training \nEvent Title: Relational Hypnotic Strategies for Anxiety Disorders \nAgenda: https://asch.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Timed_Agenda-Relational_Hypnotic_Strategies_for_Anxiety_Disorders.docx \nDates: 11/21/2025 \nLocation: Virtual \nCE: 4.0 \nContact: Eric Spiegel\, PhD espiegelphd@gmail.com \nAbstract:\nIn this applied workshop\, participants will learn relational hypnotic strategies that can be used in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Relational therapy focuses on evoking and internalizing the curative elements of the therapeutic relationship. Hypnosis can intensify and expedite this process. Participants will learn short and moderate-term relational hypnotic strategies for soothing\, regulating\, and ameliorating anxiety symptoms. Examples will be provided for generalized anxiety disorder\, phobias\, panic disorder\, and social anxiety disorder. \nLearning Objectives: \nAt the end of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nDefine relational therapy and articulate the core principles of the approach\nExplain how hypnosis can intensify and expedite the process of relational therapy\nApply one short-term relational hypnotic strategy in the treatment of emergent anxiety symptoms (e.g. panic attack or phobic response)\nUtilize two hypnotic strategies in the relational treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder.

SUMMARY:Adaptive Experiential Theory of Hypnosis: A Resource for Clinicians (CTSCH)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Central Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis  \nWebsite: https://www.ctsch.com/   \nEvent Title:  Adaptive Experiential Theory of Hypnosis: A Resource for Clinicians\, Advanced Workshop  \nAgenda:  Timed_Agend1 \nDates: 11/21/2025 \, 1-3pm CT \nLocation: Virtual  \nCE: 2  \nContact : Jana Jung-Woelfl\, ctsch@ctsch.com  \nAbstract: This presentation will explore a recently proposed theory of hypnosis called the adaptive experiential theory. This new theory is a dual-process model that provides a comprehensive understanding of the rational system and the experiential system. While these two systems work together in synergy\, they function quite differently in terms of their characteristics and methods. The rational system is influenced by logic and reason\, demands significant cognitive resources\, and operates with concentrated effort. On the other hand\, the experiential system is powered by emotions\, relies on associations\, and encodes reality through images and feelings effortlessly. According to the adaptive experiential theory\, the ability to engage in complex hypnotic responses can be attributed to an individual’s capacity to adaptively shift from processing predominantly via rational system to the experiential system. Having a stronger association with the experiential system leads to changes in how reality is processed\, enabling hypnotic suggestions to be internalized\, reified\, and put into action with less interference from the rational system. This presentation will focus on the implications this theory has for the clinical use of hypnosis emphasizing the idea that content and language of hypnotic suggestions matter.  \nLearning Objectives:  \n\n Identify and describe the rational system and the experiential system and describe at least three core differences between the two systems.\n2. Describe how the rational system and experiential system are related to hypnosis and hypnotic phenomena. \n3.Demonstrate the ability to generate hypnotic suggestions according to whether they are rational-system-oriented or experiential-system-oriented. \n4. Describe how accessing and working with the experiential system via hypnosis in therapy can be applied to various presenting concerns. \n\nSpeaker info: Cameron Alldredge\, PhD : Alldredge_CV_2025
