SUMMARY:Connecting Creatively in a World of Disconnection: Accessing Ego States Through Creative Expressive Exploration (Lemke Counseling & Consulting)
DESCRIPTION:Organization: Lemke Counseling & Consulting \nWebsite: https://www.wendylemke-psy.com/est-expressive-art \nEvent Title: Connecting Creatively in a World of Disconnection: Accessing Ego States Through Creative Expressive Exploration\, Advanced Workshop \nAgenda:Timed_Agenda_Template \nDate: 11/13/2025 \nLocation: Virtual \nCE: 6 \nContact: Lemke Counseling & Consulting\, Wendy Willberg-Lemke – wendylemkelp@gmail.com \nAbstract: The last couple of years have left the vast majority of people with a sense of turbulence\, insecurity and a dysregulated central nervous system. People in general\, and also helping professionals responsible for maintaining emotional well-being\, are challenged with central nervous systems that feel overwhelmed and dysregulated\, pendulating between overactivation and experiences of collapse. Enabling helping professionals to manage their own central nervous system responses creatively\, empowers them to apply mindsight in order to utilize the ‘gifts’ their clients possess in an ethical manner. As mental wellness practitioners\, the challenge is to render support that initiates containing movement\, in order to explore Ego States\, as a neurophysiological and psychological manifestation of the autonomic nervous system response. Utilising the ‘gifts’ implicit to the symptom presented by the client\, greater compassionate connection is established which enhances the sense of safety and stabilisation. Using the ladder of activation (as described by Deb Dana) different degrees of activation will be explored and ideas shared as to how connection between the energy parts can be established through a variety of expressive arts activities requiring low skill high sensitivity. This workshop will therefore make use of Expressive Arts applied therapeutically\, referring to art creation\, sound and voice\, movement/dance\, creative writing/poetry\, and playfulness as a bottom-up approach within various contexts such as psychotherapy and counselling (Malchiodi\, 2005). \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUtilize breathing through creative engagement to bring awareness to the body.\nCreate a sense of safety to enable containment in the face of activation using sensory awareness through connection with the external and internal world.\nEngage with bodily sensations related to the ladder of activation for self- and co-regulation.\nExplore Ego States in relation to autonomic nervous system (ANS) activation and dysregulation.\nDemonstrate expressive movement for grounding\, stabilization\, and inter- and intrapersonal connection.\n\nSpeaker Info: Elzette Fritz is a registered Educational Psychologist in private practice and supervisor in the Department of Educational Psychology\, at the University of Johannesburg\, South Africa. She was the coordinator for the Masters Educational psychology programme with lecturing responsibilities in therapeutic interventions and counselling skills in the Department of Educational psychology\, University of Johannesburg\, for nine years. DESCRIPTION:ASCH Level 1 & Level 2 Workshop  \nThursday\, November 13th – Sunday\, November 16th     \nOur Clinical Hypnosis training program offers a progressive series of workshops designed to equip licensed health professionals with skills to incorporate clinical hypnosis into their practices. In the Level 1 workshop\, participants learn the foundational principles and techniques of hypnosis\, including inductions\, suggestions\, and therapeutic strategies\, guided by experienced faculty from various health disciplines. This course blends presentations\, demonstrations\, and hands-on practice to provide basic skills for immediate application. Building on this foundation\, the Level 2 workshop delves deeper into clinical hypnosis\, expanding on “how to” by adding the “when\, why\, and where” for techniques\, especially for specific populations and complex cases like pain and anxiety management. Advanced skills such as complex inductions and the nuanced use of suggestion language are explored with expert feedback. For those seeking continued growth\, Advanced Workshops offered throughout the year cover specialized topics\, including behavioral medicine and mind-body integration\, enabling participants to further enhance and apply their skills in targeted areas. Each level builds confidence\, competence\, and the ability to provide patient-centered\, integrative care  \nImportant Notes  \n\nRegister for only ONE Workshop – Participants are expected to attend all days. \n\n\nDetailed workshop schedules\, faculty and other materials will be available to participants\, online\, two weeks before the start date.  Workshop materials will be available in electronic form only. \n\n\nYou must complete Level 1 prior to taking Level 2. \n\n\nApproximately one week before the workshop\, registered participants will receive a link to a private webpage that will include links to handouts and resource materials.  This access will be good for seven days after the workshop has been completed.  Note: workshop handouts can be approximately 200+ pages for Level 1; 150+ pages for Level 2; and 100+ pages for Advanced.  \n\nClinical Workshop Level 1  \nThe Level 1 workshop\, the first part of a series of workshops in the certification program for clinical hypnosis\, is intended for licensed health professionals including physicians\, nurses\, psychologists\, dentists\, counselors\, social workers\, and those in related fields.
