At the conclusion of this workshop\, participants will be better able to assess attachment and complex trauma; apply techniques for working more effectively with various attachment styles; manage dissociation and abreaction during hypnosis; utilize ideomotor signals for helping clients work through inner conflicts blocking change; apply techniques for trauma-related anxiety & pain; and utilize techniques for breaking maladaptive habits. Limitations\, contraindications\, and ethical use of clinical hypnosis will also be addressed. Prerequisite: ASCH Level 1 Course or equivalent  \nLearning Objectives: At the conclusion of this program\, participants will be better able to:  \n\nDescribe how complex trauma can impact brain development and attachment behavior. \nCompare four attachment styles and identify techniques to build rapport with each style. \nApply three strategies to help clients with anxious attachment style develop skills to set boundaries\, improve self-worth and reduce fears of abandonment. \nDemonstrate three strategies to help clients with avoidant-dismissive attachment style develop skills for improved emotional expression\, self-compassion\, and balance the need for control in relationships. \nDemonstrate three strategies to help clients with disorganized attachment manage social anxiety\, dissociative episodes\, and feelings of mistrust. \nIdentify two or more strategies for managing dissociation and containing negative abreactions while reviewing traumatic memories. \nDemonstrate how to use ideomotor signals to identify and explore subconscious conflicts blocking change. \nDemonstrate one or more strategies for working with trauma-related amnesia and fragmented memories. \nDemonstrate how to integrate hypnosis with imaginal exposure and imagery rehearsal to reduce anxiety and phobias.

DESCRIPTION:ASCH Level 1 & Level 2 Workshop  \nThursday\, September 18th  – Sunday\, September 21st    \nOur Clinical Hypnosis training program offers a progressive series of workshops designed to equip licensed health professionals with skills to incorporate clinical hypnosis into their practices. In the Level 1 workshop\, participants learn the foundational principles and techniques of hypnosis\, including inductions\, suggestions\, and therapeutic strategies\, guided by experienced faculty from various health disciplines. This course blends presentations\, demonstrations\, and hands-on practice to provide basic skills for immediate application. Building on this foundation\, the Level 2 workshop delves deeper into clinical hypnosis\, expanding on “how to” by adding the “when\, why\, and where” for techniques\, especially for specific populations and complex cases like pain and anxiety management. Advanced skills such as complex inductions and the nuanced use of suggestion language are explored with expert feedback. For those seeking continued growth\, Advanced Workshops offered throughout the year cover specialized topics\, including behavioral medicine and mind-body integration\, enabling participants to further enhance and apply their skills in targeted areas. Each level builds confidence\, competence\, and the ability to provide patient-centered\, integrative care  \nImportant Notes  \n\nRegister for only ONE Workshop – Participants are expected to attend all days. \n\n\nDetailed workshop schedules\, faculty and other materials will be available to participants\, online\, two weeks before the start date.  Workshop materials will be available in electronic form only. \n\n\nYou must complete Level 1 prior to taking Level 2. \n\n\nApproximately one week before the workshop\, registered participants will receive a link to a private webpage that will include links to handouts and resource materials.  This access will be good for seven days after the workshop has been completed.  Note: workshop handouts can be approximately 200+ pages for Level 1; 150+ pages for Level 2; and 100+ pages for Advanced.  \n\nClinical Workshop Level 1  \nThe Level 1 workshop\, the first part of a series of workshops in the certification program for clinical hypnosis\, is intended for licensed health professionals including physicians\, nurses\, psychologists\, dentists\, counselors\, social workers\, and those in related fields. A diverse faculty from a range of health disciplines will teach the principles and process of hypnotic inductions\, suggestions\, and treatment. CPTSD is associated with histories of prolonged trauma\, abuse\, and neglect and is considered a form of developmental trauma. Such Complex Traumatic Stress Disorders include disturbances of self-organization that overlap with attachment deficits and pathologies requiring specialized interventions to modify. Prolonged neglect and abuse are associated with attachment anomalies\, strong egosyntonic negative beliefs\, and dissociation that are not readily changed with CBT or cognitive hypnotic interventions. These underlying aspects of developmental trauma involve the implicit memory system and early learning that psychoanalysts call the unrepressed unconscious.  This workshop will delineate the role of implicit memory in trauma-related disorders and address strategies for modifying implicit memories not accessible through cognitive methods (Normative Implicit Clinical Hypnosis). Hypnotic and biobehavioral techniques for polyvagal-based interventions\, attachment repair\, and memory reconsolidation update will be integrated into a phase-oriented treatment model.  Participants will learn how to establish the neurophysiological substrate for neuroception of safety and equip patients with the prerequisite skills necessary for mastery of traumatic and wounding experiences.  Application of exploratory techniques combined with memory reconsolidation update strategies to modify negative egosyntonic beliefs and transform traumatic memories will be delineated. Once adequate stabilization is attained and sufficient memory integration is established\, treatment can focus on self-development. The workshop will provide sufficient information for participants new to the advanced hypnosis workshops and more senior practitioners looking for specialized training in trauma\, complex trauma\, and attachment disorder applications.      \nLearning Objectives: See attached agenda
