The workshop is composed of a mix of didactic presentations\, demonstrations\, experiential exercises\, and faculty led small group practice tailored to the specific needs\, interests\, and learning styles of workshop participants. Clinical hypnosis deepens the work of mind-body practices such as mindfulness meditation. Adding hypnosis allows our clients/patients to become even more deeply aware of their inner states and fosters awareness of their own strengths\, resources and problem-solving abilities. There has been extensive research demonstrating its effectiveness in treating a number of mind-body conditions\, and in expediting habit change\, facilitating pain management and enhancing treatment of depression and anxiety. \nLearning Objectives:\nUpon completion of the workshop\, participants will be able to incorporate the following in their clinical practice: \n\nIdentify and demonstrate four ways to facilitate hypnotic trance and appropriately reorient patients from a trance state.\nDemonstrate three strategies for facilitating intensification of trance.\nDescribe four conditions in which hypnosis might be successfully utilized.
