Joseph F. Zastrow, MD, FAAFP

Faculty Bio

Dr. Joseph Zastrow, MD, FAAFP is a medical doctor practicing in rural Eastern North Carolina. The proverbial country doctor, Dr. Zastrow integrates clinical hypnosis into the practice of medicine. He commonly uses clinical hypnosis to treat addictions and habit control, anxiety disorders, and conversion disorders. Working close to multiple national defense facilities he often deals with patients that suffer effects of PTSD and trauma. He served as a medical liaison in a dental residency for over twenty-five years and has a particular penchant for the clinical uses of hypnosis in dentistry.  He has served on a vast variety of committees in ASCH and is a past president and past board of trustee member in addition to being an approved consultant and frequent lecturer. He has served on the education committee and has taught at all ASCH levels.
