  • Demonstrate three (3) hypnotic induction techniques, deepening techniques and alerting techniques as well as demonstrating skill in suggesting hypnotic phenomena

TREATMENT PLANNING, STRATEGY AND TECHNIQUE SELECTION IN HYPNOTHERAPY

Learning Objectives:

  • Illustrate clinical conditions and uses of both suggestive hypnotic approaches and exploratory hypnotic approaches
  • Identify cases where hypnosis may be indicated and cases where it may be contraindicated
  • Demonstrate an understanding of various therapeutic goals that may be facilitated by the use of hypnosis

STRATEGIES FOR MANAGING RESISTANCE TO HYPNOSIS

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate an awareness of therapist, client and environmental variables that may contribute to resistance

  • Describe ideomotor signaling for unconscious exploration; utilizing hypnosis in post-traumatic stress disorder. Include techniques to elicit age regression
  • Discuss how hypnosis can be used for treatment of anxiety disorders
  • Demonstrate the use of insight-oriented techniques

PAIN MANAGEMENT
Learning Objectives:

  • Describe how hypnosis can be used for pain management
  • Identify interdisciplinary treatment

  • Describe how CBT can be incorporated in hypnotic protocols
  • Identify automatic thoughts and how to replace with reassuring thoughts

TREATMENT PLANNING

  • Describe the Sequence of Treatment
  • Demonstrate how to create a self-soothing experience in the first session
  • Illustrate how to create a treatment plan
