Individual Consultant Workshop

The Individual Consultant Workshop is a 20-hour advanced study program and a requirement for ASCH Certification. This workshop, held annually, is scheduled for June 16-19, 2022 in Alexandria, Virginia. Candidates who feel they meet the eligibility requirements below must first submit the ICW Eligibility Form

This workshop is eligible for 20 hours of ASCH CE and CME. 

Interested applicants who meet the above criteria must follow these steps to register:

  1. Complete the ICW Eligibility Form providing proof of Level 1 and Level 2 Workshop completion by Monday, June 13, 2022. Candidates will be notified of their status within three (3) business days of submission. An approval email will include the link to register for the Workshop and next task and the due date.

  2. Begin work on completing the ASCH Learning Contract Submit the completed Learning Contract to ASCH by Monday, June 13, 2022. Complete Workshop registration by Monday, June 13, 2022 

 

Workshop Faculty:

David Reid, PsyD
Dr. Reid is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Fellow and Approved Consultant of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), and member of the Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH). He is also an award-winning author of Hypnosis for Behavioral Health: Professional’s Guide to Expanding Your Practice (Springer Publishing Company) and co-author of Permanent Habit Control: Practitioners’ Guide to Using Hypnosis and Other Alternative Health Strategies (Springer Publishing Company). He serves as a science editor for the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis and chair of the SCEH Certification Committee. He has received numerous awards from ASCH and SCEH for contributions to both societies, as well as his peer-reviewed published papers on clinical hypnosis. Reid is an adjunct professor at Saybrook University and the president-elect of Division 30 (Psychological Hypnosis) of the American Psychological Association. He maintains a private practice at Augusta Psychological Associates in Central Virginia.

Jennifer Swaim, PhD
Dr. Swaim is a licensed psychologist and practice consultant who specializes in supporting individuals pursuing the best possible functioning in their professional and personal lives. Dr. Swaim is a member of the American Psychological Association, an Approved Consultant and educator for the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis, and is Board Certified in General Biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. In addition to her expertise in applied human factors, she holds an MBA in Health Care.  Her Medical Psychology practice currently focuses on work with individuals with chronic pain, biomedical ethics, and peak performance/positive psychology. Previous areas of specialization have included rehabilitation psychology, consultation/liaison psychology, presurgical psychological evaluations, and psychogenic disorders.
